He's still using that 2,000,000 Tabs "shipped", adding it to iPads sold in the same period, and finding the Tab's number is 30% of the total. Very..."smooth", could I say?

These would be the very same Tabs I see pallets of at Costco, while everyone else is sold out of iPad 2s. Got it.

Just do a Google search for 'obama birth certificate layers' and you'll see that I'm not the only one who downloaded a file with multiple layers or objects or whatever.

And while you are Googling you may even come across explanations for the objects in a single layer pdf…
But why bother with that, eh?

    Linky… (http://wireupdate.com/video/2011/04/president-obamas-birth-certificate-pdf-has-layers/)

The gameplay vids show a ton of changes. Damage (to both the cars and tracks it looks like. I think i saw tire tracks in the grass like Motorstorm has), prettier gfx, a whole new physics engine (i read that prologue used an updated gt4 engine and gt5's is completely rebuilt), etc...

I'm really looking forward to it. I enjoyed 4 quite a bit until it got into the super fast races. I have more fun racing a slightly tuned 350z instead of a completely modified GT that is putting 800+hp on the road.

I hope that the new FCP will resemble iMovie: No need for rendering and a precision editor! I like the ease of use of iMovie, should be adopted by FCP.

Hell will freeze over before this will happen! and I for one will go out and buy a copy of AVID the same day! :p

And the Apple haters do yet another 180...

    1. Macs

1995 to 2007: Don't use a Mac. Noone uses Macs.
2007 to Present: Don't use a Mac. Everyone uses a Mac.

    2. Apps

1995 to 2/22/2011: Don't use Apple. There is no software and they can't do anything.
2/22 to Present: Apps? Who needs Apps as long as you have a robust UI?

    3. Open

2007 to Today: Apple is a walled garden that only stupid lemmings use.
Today going forward: Controlling the OS is necessary and good for the consumer.

Exactly! I've heard every single one of those arguments, except instead of a lemming ... I'm an iSheep!

And for those of you that add "customizing/theming" as a great feature to Android, please take a look at what your peers are proud of. http://fuglyandroid.tumblr.com/

In what shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, Bloomberg briefly reports (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-25/apple-sued-over-user-location-data-storage-on-iphones-ipads.html) that a lawsuit has been filed in U.S. federal court targeting Apple over privacy concerns (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/20/researchers-disclose-iphone-and-ipad-location-tracking-privacy-issues/) related to location information being stored on iOS devices and in backups for those devices. The lawsuit is almost certainly the first of many regarding this issue.Apple Inc. (AAPL) was sued for alleged privacy invasion and computer fraud by two customers who claim the company is secretly recording and storing the location and movement of iPhone and iPad users, according to a federal complaint filed today in Tampa, Florida. As we noted earlier today (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/25/steve-jobs-on-ios-location-issue-we-dont-track-anyone/), Apple CEO Steve Jobs has reportedly replied to a customer email denying that Apple is tracking its customers and labeling the claims being widely discussed as "false".

And they wont do it even though I am an authorized user of the account? And know the last 4 of the Social Security number? Because I do not want to run into problems with this when I go to pick it up.

Also, will radioshacks be opening early that day?

Correct to the even though your an authorized user. Authorized users can do anything but add or upgrade, atleaset at RS.

Again, this is if your store is following the rules. I've ran 3 stores now, and every time i take over a new one, that is something i have to address bc the old managers let them do it. Probably part of the reason they aren't there anymore, haha.

We haven't got official word on an opening time yet. I would imagine we will know at least by the time preorders start if not sooner.

The key thing here from Apple's standpoint is "Trade Dress".

No one will ever confuse a Samsung F700 with an iPhone. Now way. No how.

However the Galaxy devices are so close to Apple's products in appearance and design, it's very hard to tell them apart. THAT is the problem.

So you honestly think people will fail to notice the giant Samsung printed on the front of the galaxy S (for example?)

Its different in size, has different screen different UI, different buttons,...

I figured he was born in the United States, as Hawaii is a state and was when he was born there. Now this McCain guy, he was not born in the United States, he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which was a US territory or protectorate, so it still counts. Maybe if he had won the presidency, someone would have made a big deal about it too. I doubt it.

The fact that no one made a big deal about McCain proves that birtherism is rooted in racism.

Here you have a guy who was born outside the US, with questionable eligibility to be president and no one cared. Do I think McCain was eligible? Yes, I think he should be, as should anyone else who is born outside of the US to American parents - should someone be disqualified because their American parents who live in Buffalo were eating dinner at a restaurant across Niagara Falls in Canada when the mother went into labor? No. Of course not. McCain is eligible, but, the constitution is very vague on who is a natural born citizen. McCain's eligibility should have been taken to SCOTUS so the natural born citizen cause in the Constitution can be interpreted and cleared up once and for all. But no one made a big deal about it. Then you have Obama, who was born in Hawaii, who released a birth certificate, who had birth announcements in the Honolulu newspaper, and for whom there wasn't a single shred of evidence to suggest he was born anywhere else besides Hawaii, and people are making false accusations that he was born in Kenya or somehow not eligible to be president. Is it just a coincidence that he was the first black candidate? I think not. Birtherism = racism. It's as simple as that.

ULV CPUs (17W) will go to 11.6". The TDP of 320M is not known but 9400M has TDP of 12W so it is quite safe to assume that the TDP is similar to that. That means current 11.6" MBA has TDP of 22W (includes CPU, GPU, chipset) while SB 11.6" MBA would have a TDP of 21W (17W for the CPU and ~4W for the PCH).

13" will go with LV CPUs (25W). Again, currently it has 17W for the CPU and 12W for 320M. That's 29W. 25W CPU and ~4W for PCH gives you the same 29W.

    11.6" - Core i5-2537M (option for Core i7-2657M)
    13.3" - Core i7-2629M (option for Core i7-2649M)

Presumably because the sources are "too numerous to mention". Can't you read? :p
You'd expect the article to cite some studies when Fr. Martin's article says that those studies are too numerous to mention. And let's not forget the hint of potential bias I noticed when I read that the cited article's author was a "gay affirmative therapist." Have you guys read the undoubtedly objective reviews that Donald Trump's employees write about their boss's business savvy? :)

California, it's replies like this that pisses switchers off, even seasones mac users get upset with these replies. What the hell is Rev A?. What idiot argument is this?. That's it ok for apple to make a ****ed-up product cause it's the first version?. What?.. apple just started making computers that they don't know how to make quality products until they already made the first version?. Apple should be horrified at your suggestion. Imagine if no one bought Rev A (whatever the **** that means) machines from Apple. APPLE WOULD GO BROKE!!. There's always Rev A machines when it comes to computers dude. The next mac pro upgrade will use a new processor, faster, new video, more ram, newer harddrive and becomes rev A cause THEY ARE THE FIRST APPLE PRODUCTS TO USE THE NEW UPGRADED PROCESSOR, NEW HARDDIVE, ETC. Really, stop with this nonsense. You are like the 10th idiotic apple fan I have read using this dumb argument.

Let's make it clear. The first revision of any highly integrated system is produced with an acceptable failure rate. With results coming in, failures recorded and internal testing continuous between the life of the first and second revision you will see a drop in failures in the next revision.

Every item that is in the next revision will have been tested, more flaws removed, etc. No piece of hardware is released with zero defects. [human interference aside such as dropping the product, overheating it, intentionally forcing failure]

If for every 1000 systems shipped approximately 20 fail, after a minimum predicted total hours, this 2% attrition rate is highly desirable. If you can't accept it you can stop using technology, now.

For every ten people bitching on this board about failures there is over 1,000 that don't.

There's allready en new beta of Adobe's Lightroom, Does that one run native under on the intel machines?
    From Adobe's site:

Will Lightroom run on Intel-based Macintoshes?

Yes. The Macintosh version of Adobe Lightroom beta 3 is a Universal application that will run natively both on PowerPC systems and on the new Intel-based Macintoshes.

    Sorry, completely forgot about that.

iOS rocks in apps, but it does suck *** in terms of notifications and true multitasking.

iOS doesn't suck in terms of true multitasking because it doesn't use "true" multitasking. iOS excels at using a form of multitasking that is appropriate for the hardware it is running on.

    Good for Samsung!

To the industry: THIS is the approach you take to new markets. Don't just come up with an answer to the original (iPad in this case), get you engineers engaged and push to define where the market will go, not where it currently is.

This is honestly the first tablet introduced by the industry that I feel is a competitor to the iPad.

That said, sales wise iPad will be king of the castle for quite some time. You can't really price the apple ecosystem, or beat the usability of iOS. iPad definitely has the mindshare, which is what you need in emerging markets. Take a look at the category definers Apple has introduced. Basically they set the standard for whatever market they are in (with exceptions for a few).

Innovation isn't creating new ideas, but improving them.

For instance, Spotlight searching wasn't new. BeOS had something similar. But Apple improved it and integrated it into their OS.

See, I have Virtue desktops. I've tried Desktop Manager, You Control: Desktops. But they're all just hacks. Spaces looks mcuh cleaner, simpler and elegant than any of those. That's what I expect from Apple, and they did not let me down.

As for Time Machine, no the idea is not new, even for Microsoft. But Apple is making it simple. Easy enough for mom and dad to use. Personally I think having a wormhole-space interface is kickass.

Ok my last post on this topic before I'm getting on peoples nerves: Copying, improving and whatever you wanna call it is ok, I don't care where an idea came from as long as the outcome is good. But Apple always presents their innovations as their inventions and claims that everyone else copies. In todays keynote they even made a big deal out of how MS copies Apple (banner, on stage), and afterwards they introduced only stuff that they copied (and maybe improved) from MS, Linux... that's just not very sympathetic!

How is it biting them in the ass? Android is the fastest growing OS with a larger share than IOS. I think it's been a very succesfull strategy.

It's because of the Buy One Get One option. Nothing more. People choose that option because it makes financial sense and if they don't really care about the OS or the phone, they will choose the one that fits their check books. If Apple was to OK ATT and VZ to do a Buy One Get One on the iPhone, there would be no comparison. It would be game over for Android.
